CUSTOM FRAMES
It all started when…
I could not find any frames that suited me and that were reasonably priced, when I first started exhibiting my work. A dear friend of mine, who is an interior designer, suggested that I create a line of my own custom frames, using sold wood. I was happy to see when recently (2018) visiting the Georgia O'Keefe museum in Santa Fe, NM... that she too had an obsession with what frame to use, as the museum featured an entire wall with all of O'Keefe's frame choices.
Local wood artisans are commissioned to custom make these unique frames using lumber from a FSC (Forest Steward Council) certified wood supplier. Planks are hand picked based on color and grain. A variety of exotic woods are used ranging from imported Zebrawood, Wenge and Morado to domestic species of walnut and live edge flitches. We can work with any wood variety that is available.
All materials used in framing are top of the line, museum grade and archival. Museum grade non-glare glass is also now available (for local pickups or deliveries only).
A great deal of time, craftsmanship, attention and TLC (and cursing) go into the making of custom framed prints… we are sure you'll enjoy them as much as we do!
